While I agree that the Church should be involved in politics, its sad to see so much effort on political activism, and so little on traditional matters of the Church.
Wow, that was depressing. Is this a council of the church or the platform committee of the DNC? Not one item glorifying Christ. Not one item affirming the authority of the Word. Instead, political statements, social feel good nonsense and more syncretism. Heartbroken….
I am fascinated that people who are rabid on the subject of civil rights cannot bring themselves to include all of them; i.e. the Second Amendment, the fourth, or the Fourteenth.
Committee ten is being guided by polling rather than prayer — imagine my surprise. I wonder who God polled before handing down the Commandments?
Waiting to see the results of a few decision on the following items (1) the beginning of life. (2) The taking of the life of an unborn child. (3) Same sex marriage (4) The ordaining of homosexual and lisbeans to the office of pastor. Then a decision can be made if the GA was led by the Holy Spirit or the spirit of man. Who now believes he knows more then God.
Very interesting to hear of what is going on at the General Assembly! We have not been a part of a PCUSA church for 25 years. I was a regular reader of the “Presbyterian Layman”. I do still pray for the church. I agree with the comment that the decisions are made not by the guidance of the Holy Spirit but are brought and advocated by liberal activists. It is refreshing to be part of a church that doesn’t go by the wind of the secular culture, but by the Word of God and the moving of the Holy Spirit.

Great, concise update. Almost like being on site for nightly briefing.
Sad to hear polling on marriage definition is discouraging – but not surprised.

another excellent summary — thanks, Carmen. Prayers for you all.
So sad to hear about the condition of our beloved, once great denomination.

Who’s to say that the Holy Spirit is not a liberal activist?
