Legacy Presbyterian Church in Frisco has recently been recognized as a fully chartered congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
“That’s a very large milestone in the life of a church,” said Glen Hunihan, who was called to be the organizing pastor for the Frisco congregation in 2007. The church’s motto: Sharing a Legacy of Faith.
It began with the help of Grace Presbyterian Church of Plano. That congregation purchased 11 acres back in 2004 at the northeast corner of Legacy Drive and Eldorado Parkway in Frisco for a new church.
The Frisco congregation now numbers 130 to 135 members. Its approval in November as a chartered congregation allows it to move to the next level. It will also be working to launch a capital campaign to build a church at the Frisco site. The Presbyterian Church (USA) has already pledged $1 million for its building fund.

Just remember to send the thank you card to Highland Park Presbyterian, I know they would appreciate it.
Exact thought I had when reading this article.
Frisco saw explosive growth over the past 25 years — from 6,000 residents to 140,000. But the boom is inevitably leveling off. So this congregation, amounting to just 1/10 of one percent of the city’s population, has probably already peaked. At its birth, it is likely doomed to be just one more among thousands of PCUSA congregations struggling to survive.
