A Christian is killed for his or her faith every five minutes across the world, according to a report issued by a Christian organization fighting religious persecution.
In a release of its study divulged about a month before the International Day of Prayer on November 8, Christian Freedom International launched its video uncovering the bone-chilling reality about the proliferation of Christian martyrdom globally over the past century. It has escalated dramatically.
Currently across the globe, more than 200 million Christians are threatened because of their faith. This is a recurring problem in more than half (105 of 190) of the nations in the world, Relevant reports, noting that there have been more Christian martyrs in the 20th and 21st centuries than in the preceding 19 centuries — going back to Jesus Christ’s time on earth.
To give a more detailed idea about where such persecution against Christians is taking place, a global map highlighting the world’s worst nations to live in when it comes to being threatened for one’s faith was unleashed by Open Doors. It divulges the 50 worst persecutors on earth.
