The Benham Brothers have said that being pro-life is a vital position to hold and one that requires more than just opposing abortion.
At a gala held Thursday in honor of a pro-life facility called the Pregnancy Resource Center, Jason and David Benham stressed the importance of the pro-life movement in national politics.
Before over 500 attendees at the Richmond Marriott, the brothers called on Christians “to be lightning bolts” instead of “lightning bugs” when it comes to witnessing, adding that “where you stand on life is where you stand on everything.”
During an interview with The Christian Post, David Benham explained that he and his twin brother “grew up very strongly pro-life,” as his father was the one who baptized the Roe (Norma McCorvey) of Roe v. Wade.
“We grew up ministering at abortion clinics and going to pro-life rallies when we were kids. So as we were traveling through professional baseball, sometimes we would be in a city and we would go and minister to abortion-determined mothers and families at abortion clinics,” explained David.

The Pro-life people stir up the crazies with crazy talk and then you have shootings at Planned Parenthood Centers.
Pro-life is anything but Pro-life. Harassment and death is what they bring. Don’t believe me? Look to Colorado Springs and the sad history of the movement.
I guess folks just want babies to live all over the United States and the around the Globe. But might look into the Colorado Springs stuff just to get a bigger picture Jim.
The mentally unstable will always be with us. I’m more concerned about people like you who seek to use an isolated event to silence dissent. Also, I wonder where you were when cops were being shot in the aftermath of the Black Lives matter protests?
Jim…are you REALLY that ignorant and gullible?
@todd
If shooting people is dissent then we are in great trouble. The Pro-life rhetoric ratchets up the crazies and violence at Planned Parenthood clinics escalates. The trash talk has consequences.
No, sadly, I suspect that Jim is neither ignorant nor gullible. He seems to be simply another denizen of the empire of death, where the violence of one evil man at a Planned Parenthood abortuary is a cause for a little accusatory hand-wringing, but the wanton killing of hundreds of unborn babies, day after day, week after week, year after year, at that same facility does not rouse in him any reaction at all.
Only two things can be reasonably surmised about people who express themselves like Jim: (1) They have hearts of stone, and (2) they are proud members and supporters of the PCUSA.
