Rev. Dr. Robert R. Kopp unanimously was elected as the executive director of Presbyterian Elders in Prayer (PEP) by its board of directors on Oct. 3. He officially will begin his new position with PEP on Jan. 1, 2014.
He has been an active part of PEP since it was formed in Kansas City in 1981.
Kopp and his family live in Belvidere, Ill., where he serves as pastor for the First Presbyterian Church in Belvidere.
The Rev. Melany Hamilton, who has served as PEP’s executive director for six years, will be remaining on the board.
“I am excited about Bob Kopp’s leadership. Bob brings continuity, deep commitment to Christ and to the ministry of PEP. He also brings new energy and creative ideas. I can sense a fresh move of the Holy Spirit in and through PEP,” she said.
