This week we lift in prayer the state of Colorado.
Did you know that Katharine Lee Bates once wrote a poem called “Pikes Peak,” inspired by the majestic mountains of Colorado? Of course, we know the song by its title, “America the Beautiful.”
O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the enameled plain!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
Till souls wax fair as earth and air
And music-hearted sea!
