On behalf of the Board of Directors of OneByOne, I want to thank you for your support, prayers, and desire to extend the truth and grace of Jesus Christ to those in need of sexual and relational healing. This ministry would not exist without your participation and concern.
As you know, we are witnesses to historic changes in our culture. The Supreme Court decision to allow for same-sex marriages in all 50 states sent shock waves across our country. Homosexual activists have put forth an agenda to normalize homosexuality combined with intolerance for opposing viewpoints. In the midst of the great changes we have experienced in recent years, the local church is often silent when it comes to addressing sexual brokenness. I am excited to say that OneByOne remains a strong voice and resource within the Church, particularly the Reformed tradition, to help local congregations minister to those who are in conflict with their sexuality.
I want to share an exciting and important new development in the twenty-year history of OneByOne.
We are entering into a strategic partnership with Where Grace Abounds, a ministry located in Denver, Colo. WGA was a catalyst in helping launch OneByOne. Many years ago this organization helped disciple me in my understanding of doing compassionate ministry with those with same-sex attraction. The board of OneByOne believes this alliance will further our mission to educate and equip the Church, to assist pastors and congregations to reach out with grace and love to those who are sexually broken. Being in relationship with Where Grace Abounds will allow OneByOne to meet more needs with greater resources. The Executive Director of WGA is Roger Jones, a member of an EPC church. It’s Program Director, Scott Kingry, is an ECO member. The board believes we have found a partner to reduce our sense of being alone on this journey to support and equip the local church.
We are ready to come to your church to help your leadership address such topics as, “What is Healthy Sexuality?,” Answering Pro-Gay Theology, When Your Son or Daughter Says They’re Gay, Barriers to Sexual Healing, Caring for the Person that Says “I Am Transgendered.” We also are equipped to work with a small group in your church to help them create Safe Zones where people can begin to deal with their sexual struggles.
I trust you will prayerfully consider your financial giving to OneByOne for the coming year. Though we have been losing some of the culture battles, the Lord still wants to change those who have same-sex attractions. The greatest offense in a culture that is more and more affirming of homosexuality is changed lives. As a mission organization we want to be on the front lines, taking the life-transforming message of the Gospel to those who struggle sexually.
