Contacting GA commissioners
Office of the General Assembly, April 13, 1999
The 1994 General Assembly requested the stated clerk to provide information on how certain organizations, sessions and individuals may communicate directly with General Assembly commissioners and advisory delegates, either in advance of the Assembly by mail or on site.
The Standing Rules of the General Assembly specify the entities and organizations that may request Assembly commissioner lists. Commissioners and advisory delegates may not be contacted for commercial purposes. Candidates for moderator may not send campaign materials to commissioners or permit such a mailing to be sent.
By mail
An address list or adhesive-back mailing labels of commissioners and advisory delegates are available from the General Assembly Meeting Service of the Office of the General Assembly. The cost is $10 for the list or $25 for the labels (to cover printing, handling and first class mailing costs).
On site
Each commissioner, advisory delegate and corresponding member has an Assembly “mailbox.” These are located in a public place in the convention center, and individuals and groups may place materials in the boxes during the Assembly.
Individuals and groups may offer flyers, leaflets and other printed material to Assembly participants as they enter the convention center, but must stand outside the building at least 25 feet from the entrance.
Mailing lists may be ordered only in writing or by fax. Contact Kay Geswein, Office of the General Assembly, 100 Witherspoon Street, Room 4627A, Louisville, KY 40202-1396. The fax number is (502) 569-8005.
