PCUSA has almost 2,000 employees

LOUISVILLE – As of January 1999, the Presbyterian Church (USA) has almost 2,000 employees according to the Human Resources Management Information Report presented at the recent General Assembly Council meeting.
The Office of the General Assembly has 78 people on staff, including 8 term employees whose assignments are from three months to two years in 1999.
The GAC staff totals 608, which includes 56 term employees. Division breakdowns are 110 in the General Assembly Council; 131 in Congregational Ministries; 150 in National Ministries; 88 in Worldwide Ministries; and 129 in Mission Support Services.
Presbyterian Publishing Corporation has 55 employees, Presbyterian Foundation, 141, Presbyterian Board of Pensions 244 and the Presbyterian Investment and Loan Program, eight.
Conference centers staff total 190. Ghost Ranch has a staff of 109; Plaza Resolana has 28 and Stony Point has 53.
Mission personnel totals 655. Paid mission personnel outside the US is 363. The volunteer mission personnel outside the US is 137, in the US is 113. Foreign national mission personnel to the US is 42.
Total PCUSA staff is 1,979, including term employees.
