It’s funny what an embarrassing interview on national television will do to a guy.
When Heath Rada, the recently elected moderator of the Presbyterian Church (USA), was eviscerated on CNN a few weeks back, it must have been pretty embarrassing. Fortunately enough, it looks like Rada has learned from the experience, and has done some thinking about the circumstances that led to his embarrassment. He might even do something about them.
The interview took place after the PC(USA) held its General Assembly in Detroit. At the GA, which lasted from June 14-21, the denomination approved an overture that called on the denomination to divest from three companies whose products are used by Israel’s defense establishment – Motorola Solutions, Hewlett-Packard, and Caterpillar.
During the CNN interview, Rada was asked by network anchors about the continued sale of Zionism Unsettled on the PC(USA)’s website. The text, produced by a group of hard-core anti-Israel activists in the church, demonizes the Jewish State and its supporters by blaming American Jews for a non-existent stifling of debate about Israel and Zionism. The text also downplays Islamic hostility toward Jews (and Christians) in the Middle East.

Christians who divest and support the Palestinian Muslims against Israel, will most like rot in hell. Its great that we wont have ot see this garbage in heaven !
Just wondering how Mr. Rada and others in positions of power in the PCUSA came to be so liberal that they would abandon Isreal and endorse abortion. If there is a book explaining how the PCUSA evolved to embrace such un-Christian-like opinions, please list it.
Parker Williamson’s “Broken Covenant” (2007) gives much of the history, though it does not bring the issues up to the present.

these are the best two books i know of that explain in plain language exactly what’s going on.
i first started researching this topic in 2002, after encountering strange, what at the time appeared to be out of character, behavior from my PCUSA family. the behavior patterns i first noticed in 2002 have only gotten worse, despite repeated attempts to reach out and help these individuals, offering hands on assistance, countless prayers and doctors. if you read these two books they explain it all.
It is now official . Our GA is continuously delving into political issues which will alienate and divide our dwindling membership . The Palestinian / Israeli conflict is very complicated and decades in the making ,, taking a stance which even APPEARS to be taking a side in foolish and will cause dissection and hard feelings . Why even go there ? DUH ??
I dont think Ive seen all of the angles of this topic the way youve pointed them out. Youre a true star, a rock star man. Youve got so much to say and know so a lot about the topic that I think you ought to just teach a class about it
