First listing of congregations in new presbytery released

FAIR OAKS, Calif. – The first listing of congregations that belong to the New Wineskins-Evangelical Presbyterian Church Transitional Presbytery was made public Tuesday afternoon during the governing body’s first-ever meeting.

Chart: Churches leaving the PCUSA
Chart: Churches seeking property only For various reasons, including discussions with their presbyteries and/or negotiations over church property ownership, the list previously had not been made public. At this meeting, only those congregations wishing to be listed publicly at this time released their names. They are:
- Central Presbyterian Church in Huntsville, Ala. On March 11, 2007, the congregation voted 142-9 to leave the Presbyterian Church (USA) and join the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
- Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church in Parkesburg, Pa. On June 24, 2007, the congregation voted 113-11 to immediately disaffiliate from the PCUSA and join the EPC.
- Forks of the Brandywine Presbyterian Church in Glenmoore, Pa. On June 24, 2007, the congregation voted 136-3 to immediately disaffiliate from the PCUSA and join the EPC.
- Great Valley Presbyterian Church in Malvern, Pa. On June 24, 2007, the congregation voted 179-2 to immediately disaffiliate from the PCUSA and join the EPC.
- First Presbyterian Church in Quincy, Ill. On Aug. 12, 2007, the congregation voted 124-17 to immediately disaffiliate from the PCUSA and join the EPC.
- Hope Presbyterian Church in Rogue River, Ore. Only July 8, 2007, the congregation voted 65-3 to “realign its membership” to the EPC.
- Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church in Tulsa, Okla. On Aug. 30, 2006, the congregation voted 967-36 to leave the PCUSA and join the EPC.
- Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church in Signal Mountain, Tenn. On Jan. 28, 2007, the congregation voted 1,172-10 to leave the PCUSA and 1,138-14 to join the EPC.
- First Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge, La. On Oct. 28, 2007, the congregation voted 422-60 to leave the PCUSA and 420-60 with two abstentions to join the EPC.
- Faith Presbyterian Church in Brownsville, Texas. On June 9, 2007, the congregation voted to leave the PCUSA and join the EPC.
- Memorial Park Presbyterian Church in Allison Park, Pa. On June 3, 2007, the congregation voted 951-93, with four abstentions, to leave the PCUSA and join the EPC.
- Londonderry Presbyterian Church in Londonderry, N.H. On Sept. 30, 2007, the congregation voted 208-86 to immediately leave the PCUSA and join the EPC.
- Beverly Heights Presbyterian Church in Mount Lebanon, Pa. On April 22, 2007, the congregation voted 195-4 to leave the PCUSA and join the EPC.
- River Community Church in Prairieville, La. On Oct. 21, the congregation voted unanimously to leave the PCUSA and join the EPC.
- Peters Creek Presbyterian Church in Venetia, Pa. On Sept. 9, 2007, the congregation voted 273-86 to leave the PCUSA and join the EPC.
- Hudson Presbyterian Church in Hudson, Ohio. On Nov. 11, 2006, the congregation voted 162-61 to leave the PCUSA.
The presbytery also announced its first individual minister member, the Rev. Sean Martin, who is serving in Simbury, Conn.
