Conference on Word & Spirit is set May 17-20 at Dubuque

A conference on “Word & Spirit 2001: A Needed Reformation” will be held May 17-20 at the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa.
Twelve conference speakers will explore a number of questions:
- What is the significance of the Church’s View of Christ?
- How can we recover genuine Christian discipleship?
- Why is the uniqueness of Christ under attack?
- How do we proclaim Christ in a pluralistic world with integrity and sensitivity?
The speakers will be Becky Pippert, an evangelical writer; James Edwards, professor of theology at Whitworth College; Mark Achtemeier, associate professor of systematic theology at Dubuque Theological Seminary; Alan Crandall, chaplain at the University of Dubuque; Donald Bloesch, professor emeritus at Dubuque Theological Seminary; Susan Cyre, editor of Theology Matters; Gary Neal Hansen, assistant professor of church history at Dubuque Theological Seminary; Phil Jamieson, assistant professor of pastoral theology at Dubuque Theological Seminary; Bonnie Sue Lewis, assistant progress of mission and Native American Christianity at Dubuque Theological Seminary; Dennis Okholm, professor of theology at the Wheaton School of Theology; Parker T. Williamson, executive editor of The Presbyterian Layman; and John Armstrong, president of Reformation and Revival Ministries.
