Three Puerto Rican presbyteries vote against Amendment A

The three Puerto Rican presbyteries of the Presbyterian Church (USA) have voted overwhelmingly against Amendment A. In addition, the non-geographic Presbytery of Dakota voted 20-1 against the proposal.
The votes by the four presbyteries ran the count to 4-1 against Amendment A, which proposes elimination of the constitutional standard that prohibits the ordination of self-affirming, practicing adulterers and homosexuals. Click here for The Layman Online voting chart.
Of the five presbyteries that have reported their votes, only the Presbytery of Baltimore has favored Amendment A. The vote in Baltimore was 106-56.
Harry F. Del Valle, stated clerk of the Synod of Puerto Rico, said there only two commissioners voted in favor of Amendment A at the meetings of the San Juan, Noroeste and Suroeste presbyteries in Puerto Rico.
