ordination requirement

Vote chart The Presbytery of Mississippi, with a 49-2 vote against amending G-6.0106b, has run the early tally in the national referendum to three to none. There are 173 presbyteries in all, and of the three that have cast their votes, all have voted against the “fidelity/chastity” ordination requirement and none in favor of eliminating it.
The 51 votes cast in Mississippi was the lowest total in the presbytery on any of four referendums on the ordination requirement, which may reflect the loss of ministers and elders whose congregations have left the Presbyterian Church (USA) since 2001.
But the 96.1 percent who voted for G-6.0106b was the widest margin.
