Kincaid is new editor of Layman

Paula R. Kincaid LENOIR, N.C. – Paula R. Kincaid, a staff reporter who has prepared many of the Presbyterian Lay Committee’s publications for production, has been named editor of The Layman print editions and its daily news site, www.www.layman.org.
“Paula has the experience, talent and Christian commitment to continue our mission of informing and equipping church leaders and members to provide faithful and meaningful ministry,” said Carmen Fowler, president of the Presbyterian Lay Committee and executive editor of its publications.
Kincaid joined the PLC staff in 1998. Beginning in 1998, she has covered all of the meetings of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA). She also has served as the primary reporter assigned to cover the General Assembly Council, the governing body of the denomination between sessions of the General Assembly.
“She knows more about the government of the Presbyterian Church (USA) than many ministers,” said Parker T. Williamson, editor emeritus of the Presbyterian Lay Committee.
Kincaid’s publication experience spans more than two decades. For 10 years, she was a writer and production manager of a highly respected weekly newspaper started by her father, H. William “Bill” Kincaid, now retired. She is a Southern Baptist and a keen student of Reformed theology.
The Layman is a quarterly publication that is distributed to more than 100,000 households. Long regarded as the most comprehensive news publication in the Presbyterian Church (USA), it is now extending its coverage to include other Reformed and Protestant churches.
The Layman Online is a daily news site with a large archive of material on key issues, ranging from stories and legal documents about church property ownership to spotlights on mission and ministry opportunities.
